@Braddmxn This looks like info from a newsletter that's been going around, but some details that didn't make it were that this game has been developed on the same engine that Madden has been. So rather than a port, this could have just been... developed. Saying that a AAA game has 80-90% console players is really off base too when PC gaming has twice the market share that all consoles do.

@eriktheheckel I'm sure they forked Madden to start College Football 25. And why not reuse that code? It's all football. The problem is that they started development back in 2021, when the PC version of Madden was still Gen 8. I'd love to know if it was an upfront decision by the top brass to blow off PC to launch Gen 9-only (I mean, that's a starting assumption for EA Sports when there's no competition or overwhelming market pressure, right?) or if staying in sync with Madden got squeezed out of the project schedule. Either way, the result was passing the Gen 9-on-PC tech debt around like private equity destroying your favorite stores and restaurants.
So I guess the *real* question is: Does EA plan on releasing College Football on PC in the future? Or will this be like NHL, never getting a PC version because the goalposts keep moving year after year after year?
