My review between this game and Madden 25

I have had enough time playing both games. I have had a franchise in each game also.

Although they are similar is the basic concept there are some differences if you play both.

I will start with the overall game-play, I find the college game to be more entertaining. Maybe its the atmosphere of the other teams stadium, their mascots and playbooks that makes it more entertaining for me.

As to the game-play, I do feel it is more wide open and easier to score but in college that is the trend anyways. I play as Oklahoma and I sense the speed and wide open play style available to me. In Madden I feel like it is lagging but that may well be open purpose because of the relative ability of those players, where in college you can have a huge difference in talent. That is another thing i like, you do have to lower power teams against the high power teams where in Madden they are very close. Each team in Madden does have some strength to win any game. I do not sense that in the college game.

Let me address the elephant in the room here. Is either game perfect? no and they never will be. Could it be better than what they are right now, I would hope so, both needs some attention here.

My biggest complaint in both games is your QB is a moth to a light bulb, they are going to be sacked over and over and over again. No matter their skill set, they NEVER tuck it and run unless you make them and then most times it is way too late. The CPU does not do it all that much but at least they do and keep drives alive. I desire to play coach mode, meaning pick the plays and allow the CPU use each players skill set to give me the results. QB running is no even there for you the player QB. Why" I have no idea.

The story line is much more immersed in the college game with the awards, the bowl games, the championship playoffs, each weeks ranking, those keep you interested all season long. Madden 25 you just want to make the playoffs, nothing added there really.

Oh, the kicking meter I do like better in Madden, the basic one. I can at least kick field goals outside the 30 yard line and from the near hash marks. The meter in the college game is swinging so fast that it is near impossible to connect well with a kick.

Stats are equal to me, some difference but not enough to like one over the other. Overall I like the college game better but I like college football over the NFL anyways and that well could be the swaying point.

As to my rankings

College Football 7/10, could be 9/10 with some improvements and fixes. New game with many more teams to play with and against. Much better visuals also.

Madden 2025 5/10, could be 8/10 with improvements and fixes.   Madden is really the same game as last year and the year before and before that...you get my drift here. This is why the 5/10

I look at any video game as purely entertainment not a career or a night after night sitting in a chair playing it. I do have a life outside of games that I enjoy doing. So I value the entertainment when playing it for its worth. Lets just say we have $80 in a game. If I can get 8 hours of enjoyment out of it, that is $10 an hour of enjoyment then it was worth buying and playing. If i get 20 hours then it is $5 per hour, you cannot even go see a movie on that plus you do not have to buy gas to drive there, popcorn for some ungodly amount of money, by the time you see a movie you have spent $40 per person for 3 hours lets say, that cost you more than just 8 hours of enjoyment with a game, a much better value with the game.

Again I do not sleep and eat these games like some do.

I hope I did a review that you find interesting.
