Re: Can you edit new recruits after they are in your team in college football 25?

For dynasty, after you sign all your recruits and they’re officially on your roster, yes you can edit their ratings and everything else.

Just so everyone knows this isn't true.  You can not edit ratings in offline dynasty that I've seen at all.  Maybe you can in online dynasty (which if that's the case that's a really stupid design decision).  What you have seen about being able to edit "NPC" stand in players or fake players is true.  You can not edit the numbers at present so on some rosters there are currently RBs with numbers in the 80s and WRs with numbers in the 30s and 40s.

Also in the pursuit of realism EA should've added se sort of strength training or weight gain logic into progression.  So when you start your dynasty with that 275 pound stud FR tackle, be prepared for him to be a 275lb stud tackle as a JR or SR as well.

Position changes are available for non NIL players at anytime.  I'm not sure about the NIL players though.  If so make sure you do that in the "preseason" window.

I haven't even started a dynasty yet (to actually play) because of all of the testing I've been doing.  Another thing if you're a stat head, you're going to see some explosive numbers.

So I just skipped through a season in online dynasty and I can confirm that you can't edit ratings for anyone.  Gear can be edited for real players and that's it.  Gear, height, weight and body frame (the visual changes of body are nominal at best outside of weight) can be edited for new recruits and AI generated players in the base roster only.  No numbers still (supposedly coming in tomorrow's patch) and certainly no ratings.

Also disregard my comment earlier about stats.  It seems like the game has Madden's sim stat engine.  QBs are eating up RB carries which wouldn't matter too much if the YPC reflected college football numbers.  Most decent backs will be in the 4ypc range, really good ones will be above 5ypc but that's even situational.  I've seen Judkins multiple times avg less than 5ypc and he's in the 90s.  The 2nd back barely gets the ball and ypc are super low most of the time for them as well.  Almost all QBs will be at 4ypc or lower, even the ser I've academy QBs and w/o rating edits there's no way to fix this.  Upsets are serious.  I've skipped through like 5 or 6 seasons  (of the 2024 season only as to test the base roster) and I've yet to see any undefeated teams.  I've also frequently seen teams with 4 and 5 loses in the final top 25 poll.

I'm not dumping on the game.  It's fun to play and is pretty good on the field.  It does things to seperate itself from Madden, but when you pop the hood and start picking apart dynasty mode you'll see some of the vestiges of bad Madden franchise legacy code.  Everyone is different and what they want from the game is different, there is still fun to be had with this game and I'm still so glad this game is finally here.

I typed up a really detailed post about sim stats, but I think it got removed.  That sucks because it took some time to compile the data and now it's just gone.

  • Can we get a transaction log or something? In these online comp leagues commissioners can edit players all willy nilly with no one knowing. I also think dynasty mode needs a patch so users can't edit physiques at will. Its alot of 6'6 corners and wide receivers now. The integrity of these dynastys are being tested.

    Hi everyone,

Just wanted to drop in here and share that the title update on the 29th of August added the ability to edit ratings for non-NIL players and recruits.

Check out this Campus Huddle article for more details about the August 29th College Football 25 Title Update

  • This is great news thanks for finally  fixing thus. Now since we can't change recruits skin color we need EA to fix the recruits. We need more black wr and less white players for example. We need less black kickers and more white kickers. Common EA This should be obvious fix for new recruits.

  • Any word on recruit generation?

Every class (without fail) has a middle aged man with a beard as my top corner prospect!

This is seriously killing the experience for me.
