I'm not sure if I understand your questions entirely, but hopefully this helps. College Football will allow you to select how often substitutions are put into the game. For example, with the Wear and Tear system, you won't be able to run the ball 40+ times with your Running Back, especially with teams that use multiple Running Backs throughout the game. When your player(s) begin to show some fatigue, the game will sub those players out for 1 play and then they will be back in.
