There were actually formation subs in the EA NCAA Football series back in the 2000’s.
We also had O lineman that blocked for a full second prior to releasing to set up a screen block. We also had an option pitch that wasn’t trash like we have in 2025.
We used to press A to hand off the ball on the option since EA’s Bill Walsh College football circa 1992. So for 30 years I’ve been pressing A to hand off the ball on the tripe option in EA’s NCAA football. Now these insufferable clowns think they’re a trend setter by changing things for the sake of change. Not only do they change how the handoff input works, I.e. do NOTHING to hand off the ball instead of tapping A like we’ve been doing for THREE DECADES, there is no SETTINGS option to change it back to Tap A to hand off the ball.
The absolute hubris involved in changing how the option hand off works would make Caligula blush. Change for the sake of change. So stunning. So brave.
Please add in a settings option for the “Classic option” so that tapping A hands off the ball.
The formation sub comment makes sense
Not sure why it matters that a handoff mechanic changed to begin with, seems like just something to deal with but also doesn’t seem to make sense in a post about formation subs.
