I find it ridiculously frustrating to work hard to land a solid QB 3 years into a dynasty offline and I have to play with a QB with the number #24 or some high number. Allow more customization for rando recruits at least the jersey number!
The game itself changes jersey numbers randomly, including NIL players.
I don't think this is so much a legal issue as it is an incompetence issue.
One SOMEWHAT of a workaround was for me, at least on my Team Builder team, on the initial website I made sure that no 2 players had the same number...that's when it seems that the computer goes nuts and starts to randomly change numbers...so, so, so dumb. Anyway, I also then had a Punter that they created since they didn't put Kickers & Punters in the TB website. So when my Punter got the same number as one of my WR's, I went into and edited that WR...not his number (bcuz I could only do that on the website), just anything on him like his name or uniform stuff. This then forced the Punter's number to change. His number THEN landed on the same number as my FS...so I edited HIM too, my FS...and in doing so, it made the Punter's number change again...I did this 3 times until my Punter landed on a number that wasn't already taken, and it was fine from there.
I know none of this is ideal, plus I'm talking about my TB team and not an offline dynasty...but it DID seem to work on TB when I didn't want doubled numbers always causing my guy's to change their numbers. Again, I know this won't work for offline, but thought I'd post this just in case anyone's trying to avoid numbers changing on the online side.
So stupid we have to deal with all this crap and so many stupid bugs...thanks a lot EA
