Conference Standings Make no sense

Conference standings need to be fixed. How are 3-4 loss teams finishing 1st/2nd in the conference over teams with one or two losses.... This is starting to take the enjoyment out of Dynasty mode. Shouldn't conference standings be winning % and then Conference Record and H2H as tie breakers?

Current Conference standings in my dynasty:

Big Ten                                                                       Sun Belt                            ACC                                    American

1. Ohio State 7-1                                                 1. James Madison 6-2           1. Miami 7-1                        1. Memphis 6-2

2. Iowa 7-1                                                           2. App State 5-3                     2. FSU 6-2                          2.  N. Texas 6-2

3. USC 5-3  (#5 in the country)                              3. S. Alabama 5-3                3. Clemson 7-1                    3. Temple 4-4

4. Washington 7-1                                               4. Texas State 5-3                   4. NC State 7-2                   4. Tulsa 5-3

5. Michigan 6-2                                                     5. UL Monroe 7-1                   5. Notre Dame 7-1               5. UAB 7-1 (#12 in the Country)

6. Maryland 5-4

7. Wisconsin 6-2

There are so many other issues deeper in the standings like 5-3 North Carolina 9th in ACC but #20 in Country or 6-3 Tennessee 12th in the SEC but #17 in the country. I could go on and on I guess what I'm getting at here is after the update there seems to be zero improvement in conference standing logic or CFP logic.

  • Okay, I know this post is 6 months old, but I was looking to see if anyone had any insight into this nonsense myself; however, I do have a point to make for your post. Conference standings are supposed to be based on nothing but conference wins/losses and then whatever the individual conferences have set for tie-breakers. Overall wins have nothing to do with it. Last season for me (RTG) I was playing for Oregon and the team finished 12-0 with zero conference losses. Michigan finished 10-2 but somehow was above me in standings despite those 2 losses being conference losses (one was to me) and Michigan got the first round bye in the playoffs. That makes no sense. At a minimum EA needs to explain their logic, at best they need to fix this.
