Delaware & Missouri State Rivalries

Who do you think should be Delaware & Missouri State's rivals in the game next year?

Delaware v. James Madison has a Wikipedia page right now. All time series is tied 14-13 with Delaware leading. Should probably also give Delaware a rivalry with Temple because of how close Newark, DE is to Philly. As for a rivalry within Conference-USA, Liberty works with the proximity.

Missouri State is an odd one to me because they don't seem to have a rival at the FCS level right now either. They're also not close to any other G5 teams. You can't just not give the Bears a rival because game mechanics kind of require a team to at least have one rival in the game. I guess you could give them a rivalry with Arkansas State since they're on opposite sides of the Ozarks and Missouri State's longest played rival, Southeast Missouri State, is close-ish to Jonesboro in the Bootheel, so Arkansas State could be a natural fit. Obviously Missouri and Arkansas don't make sense as rivals, the schools are in an entirely different weight class. Honestly no idea what to pick for them here. Hoping to hear from you all.

  • I honestly would just put them with Arkansas State. The closest thing they had to a rival was maybe UT-Martin....

  • Okay, so a few more options have popped up for this thread, based on a reddit thread on r/NCAAFBSeries

    Delaware:

    • Appalachian State (postseason rivals for many decades in the FCS)
    • James Madison (Former conference mates and long-standing rivals, THIS IS A MUST)
    • Liberty (Regionally appropriate new conference mate)
    • Old Dominion (Regionally appropriate, former conference mates)
    • Temple (Newark, DE is VERY close to Philly, and Temple's HC KC Keeler is a former Delaware Blue Hen HC)
    • UMass (Competed against each other in the CAA for a lot of years, back when UMass was decent at FCS football, lotta history here)

    Missouri State:

    • Arkansas State (regionally appropriate G5)
    • Tulsa (shared a conference briefly in the 90s and the closest G5 to Springfield, MO)
    • Western Kentucky (shared a conference in the 2000s before WKU moved up to the Sun Belt)
