Don't take this as a complaint about getting a couple bad recruits, EA. There are real bugs at work.
The Senior Superlatives coach attribute can't open some ratings for tight ends, which makes me think some of their cats are fully bugged out. This is why we don't see vertical threat TEs that grow to high overalls, because their key attributes are locked. Possession TEs also have this problem but not as severe.
Blocking TEs have the same low caps problem in certain categories, but since their overall is dependent on IQ and Blocking, their Ovr can grow a lot even though they aren't really that good. I have 97 Ovr TEs in my game with speed and catching in the low 70s. They definitely don't play like 97 overall players.
In case the Senior Superlatives bug is its own thing and not related in some way to certain player types' ratings categories being permanently full when generated as freshmen, I have submitted a separate bug report for that here.
Like Speed Rusher OLBs, it is possible to create Strong Arm QBs by changing player position, but these players become irreparably broken with no ratings pages and thus no way to progress.
Seeing no notes on broken player types and bugged progression in today's patch is disappointing to say the least.
