When you dig into the sim stats and look at box scores around the country in your dynasty, two major red flags appear.
1) The play counts are very low. Even lower than what the average NFL team runs per game. Almost every single game I click on, both teams are running less than 60 plays per game each, many are in the 40's, few even reach 60, and I've yet to see a team even come close to running 70 plays per game.
For reference, two teams in the entire country last year ran less than 60 plays per game - Miami Ohio at 58.2 and Kentucky at 56.1.
The top 25 teams in real life last year ran between 73.6 and 82.1 plays per game.
The bottom 25 teams ran between 56.1 and 64.7 plays per game.
The average plays per game for all FBS teams was 68.9.
The median was 68.7.
The sim engine essentially has everyone running less plays per game than the two lowest in the nation last year in real life. The sim engine has teams running 10-15 less plays per game each than what you'd see in real life.
2) Yards per carry are ridiculously low in simmed games. It's extremely common to see the yards per carry in simmed games to be below 4 with many games being below even 3 yards per carry.
For reference, only 7 teams in the nation averaged less than 3 yards per carry last year.
The top 25 teams were between 4.8 and 6.2 yards per carry.
The bottom 25 were between 2.3 and 3.5.
The average in the nation was 4.2 and the median was the same.

When looking at stats in dynasty mode, you can see that the rushing totals are extremely low compared to real life. From an individual standpoint, most sims I've see have around 5-10 1,000 yard rushers where as real life constantly has 40-50 in a given year.
Simplistically, the sim engine needs games running about 30-40 plays longer on average with the yards per carry averages being tweaked to be closer to 4.2 yards per carry on average when including sacks.
Sim stats impact far too many parts of the game and cannot go unfixed. It impacts awards, player progression, game results, etc. These issues must be ironed out, it is owed to the community.
