As you mentioned, it's day one. A lot can change in the lifetime of a game, and a feature not being there on day one could be for a variety of prioritization issues that affected the development. Hopefully, something is said and the feature is added, but it may not be immediate, and they may have much higher priority (or low-effort/quick) fixes to attend to.

@AnobixThis is quite obviously a low-effort/quick fix. As you can see in the game the coding and functions to edit player's names, ratings, jersey numbers, positions, etc is already there. It's just turned off. All they have to do is switch the user's ability to edit these. Why wait 2 or 3 weeks or 12 months to for this low-effort/quick fix that so many people are requesting?Yeah this is the most frustrating part to me. It’s been a feature in past games, it’s so very clearly somewhere in the development of this game and all it takes is the option to turn it back on for offline players.
Of all the low effort requests that would send some goodwill their way, it feels like they aren’t even interested in listening. They have our money and all we can do is post here or on reddit, and tweet at a few people involved with the game.

Why wait 2 or 3 weeks or 12 months to for this low-effort/quick fix that so many people are requesting? For what it's worth I don't disagree at all. In fact, I have yet to buy the game (I never pre-order and virtually never get anything on release day).
I'm waiting for official responses from any of the many requests we have here across these boards and reddit to be spoken to before I'll even touch my wallet. My point from before, from a development standpoint I bet they had some game-breaking issues that needed to be targeted before feature requests would be assigned to devs. But I have no idea the size of the team working on the game, nor how many are still working on it post-launch or were moved onto other projects (or left the company after shipping).
It doesn't excuse the lack of a feature we'd consider expected or basic (bf2042 launched without a scoreboard for Christ's sake), but just saying it may take time depending on the aforementioned reasons, if at all.
