Random Jersey Number Changes

Why do the players in my dynasty randomly change jersey numbers? These are real-life players who switch to different numbers randomly and I’m unable to switch them back. Really would like some help from EA on this issue as it really diminishes a lot of realism for the players on my favorite team.
