Oh I have been saying this for about two months. No answer.
It doesn't seem to affect the underlying ratings. Just their archetype and OVR.
So initially it doesn't affect the CPU or user performance (or so I think).
But it does affect players development, as they will develop with the wrong archetype.
And a workaround is to change the affected players positions out of their position and then back (or just to another position if desired), but only during the offseason change position phase. This will reinstate their correct archetype.
But any user players will develop with the wrong archetype for one year. And worse, all affected CPU players for all 133 other teams will develop with the wrong archetype for their whole career as their is no way to change their positions (you can't use the edit player feature because the bug exists when making a position change using this method). This ruins these players developments.
It affects certain positions worse than others. OLB, HB, TE, OL, and FB see the biggest negative affect in my opinion.
The issue that I’m always having to deal with is that I play as Boise state with Ashton Jeanty. Ashton is a 97 overall receiving back. His abilities at launch were changed from safety valve, take off and side kick, to more power back abilities like headfirst, downhill arm bar shifty and side step. In a play now game I will use Ashton jeanty with his new abilities and dominate but when I make a new dynasty he is reverted to his original abilities like safety valve. This does affect gameplay and it’s an annoying issue that won’t change. Same issue happens with multiple players. Where their overall is updated, equipment is updated but not their abilities which is more important in my opinion….
