Had something similar happen to me today in UT. Tied 17-17. Got the ball down to my opponents 11 with 8 seconds remaining . Was just gonna kick the field goal for the win. I was out of timeouts so my plan was to just spike it three times to get it down to 4-5 seconds remaining and kick it. After 3rd spike, was kicked for excessive delay and given a loss
