Server Connnection
This has probably been addressed already, but I cannot seem to play a full game on either CFB or EA FC for getting kicked at random times during a game. I’ve done everything possible with my system a...
This is very common with a wireless connection. Speed isn't the issue. It's more about stability and a wireless connection just doesn't offer that. Can you switch to a wire or is your router too far away?
I am right above my router and I’ve now played multiple other games online from different developers with no issues. It seems this is an EA server issue which I and other friends have had problems with for years.
Do you mean it's in a room on a floor under yours? That is surely going to cause disconnects. There is a connection test for FC 24. Try running the Connection Quality Report and get me a screenshot of the overall score as well as the match history. The button for that is on the left side of the Connection Quality Report screen.
Yes I am in a room above my router/modem. I’ve yet to be disconnected from sea of thieves, prominence poker or call of duty which all three are from different servers. EA is the only one I’m having trouble with so this is definitely an EA issue. I’m working on the FC report because I didn’t have it shared. Playing a game now which I’ll surely get kicked and maybe it will show then.
You're going to need to play several games so there's enough data to generate the report.
Every game is different. Just because some games don't disconnect, but others do, it doesn't mean the issue is only related to the game. Each has different requirements for data transfers. Our sports games have a lot of data being sent and received so all involved will stay in sync. Competitive games really need to be played over a wired connection for the most stable and lag free experience.
If you absolutely must stay on a wireless connection, make sure it's using 5G and not 2.4G. Also, you could put your console on it's own wireless channel. While these can help, chances are excellent you'll still have issues. A good option is to get a powerline adaptor. I use a couple of them myself without any issues.
Just post the CQR when you get a chance.
