Server Connnection
This has probably been addressed already, but I cannot seem to play a full game on either CFB or EA FC for getting kicked at random times during a game. I’ve done everything possible with my system a...
Thank you for the advice. I’ve been able to play wirelessly for years on PS3, PS4 and PS5 with some lagging but mainly stable connections. Most of the issues have been with EA titles but it’s mainly been a recent issue to this extent. I was generally able to play CFB 25 online without getting disconnected until about 2 weeks ago. Now every game gets disconnected minutes into it. My speeds and internet connection have no issue with any other media or streaming platform. This should not be happening.
It's possible there's something now causing interference that wasn't before. Again, I recommend checking to make sure you're using a 5G connection.
When you stream media, it's buffered so that when your connection drops, it'll keep playing for a bit. You don't notice this since your connection is most likely briefly dropping. That doesn't work when playing our sports games as the moment a disconnect is detected, the game ends. Even if you reconnected momentarily after. Chances are excellent the same is happening in other games. However, they are allowing you to reconnect and continue playing.
Please let me know when you get those screenshots. That will show show more details on your connection.
You also may want to do some research online regarding wireless connections and competitive gaming so you're better informed of the pros and cons of wired vs wireless.
Right, I understand what you’re saying and it’s true but I don’t think it applies to my situation for the reasons I’ve stated. I’ve even been disconnected trying to reply to this forum and a live chat on EA’s website while not having any dips or disconnects on anything else in my house. So for some reason, EA is not working as it should in my region or something else is going on.
Please let me know when you get that test done and we'll go from there.
Chances are excellent you're also having dips in other connections. Unless you're constantly monitoring the packets sent and received for every connection, you may not notice. With your router being in another room, with a floor, wires, pipes, and interference from other signals, disconnects and lag are to be expected.
Right but it’s strange this has not been a problem until I started playing CFB and EAFC. I just spoke with another friend who lives a couple miles away from me who plays wirelessly as well, but is directly beside his modem and router and he’s having the exact same problem
Since he's right next to his modem, ask him to try using a wire and see if there's a difference.
That’s what he said he was going to do. He’s also on the same internet provider as me so it could be an issue with them even though it’s fiber
Did you run that test?
It keeps saying I haven’t played enough games yet. I’ve played 3 and been disconnected on all three
As a test, can you move close enough to use a wire?
