Dynasty Mode: Receivers being multiple buttons/not enough players on field

In about year 6 of a dynasty, and on about 20% of my play calls I have a receiver that’ll be both x/y or a different combination of two different buttons. The other receiver that they also have the button for is just not on the field. Crashed my game last time and am trying to call timeout if I see the problem pre-snap, but it is getting to be unplayable. Any ideas on how to fix this?
