Menu gets stuck when using Slow Sim

If you want to watch your team play, and select 'slow' for the sim speed, and then proceed to sim until end of game or end of quarter... more often then not, if you hit 'circle' to go back (as if you wanted to stop the slow sim), the game gets confused and just moves to the next play and not allowing you to go back to the menu and continues with the slow sim until the end of the game or whatever timeframe you told it to jump ahead to.
