Roster Positions

They need to address a issue I've noticed with roster positions. Adding the edge position was a good idea but it screwed up the base 3-4 defense personnel. For example, if I call a play from the 3-4 odd formation, instead of 3 lineman/4 linebackers I get 2 edge(defense ends before)/3 defensive tackles/2 Mike Lbs. Basically a 5-2 defensive. They need to go back to having DE position for base and replace RRE/RLE with EDGE. That would fix the problem.

Good point — the EDGE role works great in passing sets, but it really throws off the personnel in base 3–4 looks. Having DEs for the core front and then using EDGE as a situational sub-package role (instead of replacing RRE/LRE) would keep alignments true to real schemes while still giving flexibility.
