CPU Player Logic....Help Me Understand

What is the player logic for ball carriers running RIGHT AT the defender?  Especially, when there is a clear path to the left or right.  This happens A LOT on kick and punt returns.  The returner does not follow his blockers and runs directly at a defender then does a spin move INTO the defender (occasionally).  What is the player logic behind this?  When you think of ball carriers they normally attempt to run away from defenders and will even run out of bounds to avoid a hit, especially your less tough ball carriers and QBs.  But no, they run directly into a defender.  It is bizarre.

What is the player logic of the CPU/USER-SIM QB holding on to the ball and running AWAY from the line of scrimmage?  Losing 15+ yards on a play that could have been a throw away ball or even stepping into the pocket and taking a 2 yard sack.  Or my favorite run up to the line of scrimmage, run down the line of scrimmage, and still get sacked (or FINALLY throw the ball away), when there was a clear path to the first down marker straight ahead.

What is the reason CPU punters cannot punt more than 40 yards?  EVER?

What is the reason OL get blown by when pass blocking a DL, especially when they are SO Much more overrated than the DLmen?  How does this make sense?
