Crash/Stay - need an Edge coach setting vs boot pass plays

Have you tried setting your read option settings to conservatives to allow the Edge defender to play the QB and pre-play adjusting to a contain? This has always worked for me pretty well and if you are sure it’s a boot you can guess pass, however when run committing your edge defender will crash the the appropriate run commit and forget all previous coaching adjustments.
