Looking to have a productive conversation about this game
From what I've seen there seems to be a clear dividing line with opinions on this game.
- Offline folks (Dynasty) seem to love this game.
- Online competitive (Road to CFP) folks seem to hate this game.
I've seen the reasons supporting both trains of thought. And honestly respect them both.
What's interesting is, feelings towards Madden are the same...just in reverse.
So here's a thought, and it's coming from a place of understanding...
Perhaps putting out a product where the offline and online modes are equally solid, is just too much work for the dev team. I truly mean that. The laundry list of fundamental oversights year in and year out appear to indicate this.
So how about this as a solution...put out two separate games.
Dedicate each team to putting out the best possible product. This would increase product quality.
Cause the truth is, gamers game the way we want to game. And the idea that you can "engineer" the player base towards flipping over the other side (offline to online and vice versa)...is not sustainable.
What we don't want is what it feels like now. Where it feels like resources were dedicated towards either game mode, while our mode of preference gets the short end of the stick.
You can of course overlap gameplay resources. I'm talking about smoothing out the rough edges of these modes for College and Madden online and offline.
The main limiting factor I could foresee is...personnel on hand to field two separate teams for College Football and Madden respectfully. I'm not privy to those resources, but from a business standpoint...it would appear revolutionary at the start, but over time could bear significant fruit.
So what say you gamers...two separate games?
