You guys gotta get rid of skill caps. I know they were a great development idea but in reality they just add an unnecessary layer of complexity to the game and with the nerfing of position changes even with switching players from REDGE to LEDGE just means you gotta scrap them unless you want to right dozens of lines of code for them to work slightly better.
The skill caps are a great thing. They just need to fix a simple bug nothing more.
I like the skill caps, but they do need to weigh production into the equation when a player is capable of increasing his skill caps.
they also need to take production in account with player progression more. There are certain levels at which their OVERALL should mimic their production.
There absolutely shouldn't be a nerf when just switching sides of the same position.
Particularly given sometimes it seems like there's like 10 guys playing one side that you can recruit for every 1 on the other.
Personally, I think that the setback you have when switching positions in rating to begin with is already a disincentive to do it if you don't have to. So I'd be in favor of no nerfing for any position change...within reason. Like if you're switching a game from one linebacker slot to another, that shouldn't artificially introduce a cap.
