Why can’t we set depth charts!

There’s nothing more frustrating than having to pause the game at the beginning of each game and scramble to get your preferred subs in. Why don’t they let us save our depth charts for online.

There’s no valid reason not to let us do this and I don’t see anyone else talking about this. I can’t be the only one that gets frustrated having to make subs every game. My opponent usually hits resume right away too so I normally am not able to make all my adjustments in 1 pause.

It's funny that EA has this forum at all, since it's clear that they have no intention of implementing any of the changes that we ask for on here.

Meanwhile, EA has made so many changes and patches for crap that no one on this forum has asked for.  It's crazy.

That's right.  Crazy.  And so are the people at EA who are in charge of managing this game.  And so are us users, too, for buying what is essentially nothing more than a copy of last year's game with this year's rosters.

I'm not saying the game is lousy.  The game is good.  But it could be so much better.  If EA would just do away with all the unnecessary and arbitrary restrictions they have placed within it.

No point in saying this, I guess.  They're not going to change a **bleep** thing that we think matters.

  • This been going on since last year's game. Thought it was a simple oversight, but after a full off-season, it's not only back again, but they won't even acknowledge the posts we make talking about it.

Seen a comment from discord say "if it doesn't put money in their pockets, they won't make make any changes". Really didn't want to believe that (and I still don't), but it's hard not to feel that way when tomorrow's Title Update addresses NOTHING about this mode (TBD on line stunts) while our posts pretty much say the same thing...

Yet not one dev has come into a post to say "we're aware...".

They changed ONE thing about this mode from last year...Stadium Pulse. And even that's too extreme so folks don't like it.

Carry over issues from last year:

    1. Depth Charts (already talked about)
    2. Kickoff times (no night/evening games)
    3. No weather
    4. Defensive playbooks
    5. Matchmaking and Tiers
  • Does the saving method not work? I remember doing it a few years ago in madden.

    1. Make the adjust from depth chart in main menu
    2. Go to manage files ~> save files ~> Roster~> select Official ~> select yes to overwrite the file.
    3. When you load up the game it should have the saved version of the depth chart.

I tried it and ... it doesn't work. I figured it wouldn't. It was annoying that the guy in a video said it would. :(

  • It’s insane there aren’t these basic quality of life options to save a depth chart or use a custom playbook in h2h

  • I found a video that says if you set the depth chart offline it will stay set for Online Play.

    CREATE AND SHARE/ROSTERS/ORDER DEPTH CHART

I haven't tried it yet, but I will later today and confirm.

  • What makes it even worse is...the default depth charts are AWFUL.

You've got entire defensive positions with nobody in them.

C'mon devs. This was a bad idea last year and it's an even worse idea worth these new updated positions.

Let us save them from the game menu. It makes too much sense.

  • I wish we could set depth charts before the game. Or, at least, we could while the opening scenes are running and the players are running onto the field. That would be time well spent if we could make our adjustments during that minute.

  • I actually completely agree with you. They did this in last year's game and it didn't make sense then.

Whatever coding is used in Madden to allow us to save depth charts, use that same coding. It's not rocket science.
