I was ranked 49 on the top 100 leaderboard but got awarded champion cards. Was the leaderboard lying or something?

Grinded for nun I was top 100 whole season
EA just sucks I was 51 with 3 hours left checked at 6am in the morning! Ea gave me the purple player. This is the second time it’s happened to me I’ve played ranked and been top 100 every new player drop. It almost happened to me a third time but ea gave me the purple player the like five minutes later I got the top 100 pack….
