S5 captain upgrade tokens not upgrading player?

I am having the same problem and they have told me that it is a bug 

You need to select all of there chemistries at the bottom there's 7 for each, they unlock with  captain upgrade tokens when you upgrade each player

• Which platform are you playing on? 
• What's your Xbox Gamertag, PSN ID, EA Account ID, Steam ID, or Nintendo ID? 
• What happens when you try to use the tokens to upgrade? Does it consume the token?

• Nothing happens when I apply the token to upgrade at first -- even when the player is added to the line up (as suggested in the S5 TIP Card). I was finally able to get the upgrades once I added the team chemistry to the players that matched my current offensive and defensive playbooks (for me Multiple O and 4-2-5). THEN once I added the players to the line up, it worked. This should be explained better in the S5 TIP Card.

You have to put your chem & position upgrades on as well took me a minute but I got yall.
