Like others have mentioned, having a gap in your lineup can sometimes cause errors like this.
If you aren't able to get into your lineups, you should instead be able to go into your item binder and add players to your starters from there. When you pull up a player in the binder, you should see an option there to promote them to a starter. Give that a shot if you've got an empty spot in your lineup and see if it helps get rid of the error.
I tired doing this and nothing. Still having the edit lineup part. Tried going into a game to edit it and I was kicked from the game all the back to the main screen.
