Road to CFP Matchmaking Feels Fixed Instead of Random

After two years of playing this mode exclusively , I have come to realize that the match ups within this mode are not random but yet fixed.

Over this season, I've exclusively played the road to the college football playoff and I have noticed that an almost every playoff , not only am I playing the same tier one but also the same players. This is a fact regardless of division.

I just made an appearance in the Natty game and lo and behold I was matched up against a player I knew I had played on other divisions in the natty game. I've been matched up with this person multiple times within the college football playoff especially within the national championship game.

You're not losing games because you can't win or you're not good enough, EA is stacking the cards against you and based off the reveal, winning a national championship in this mode will be even harder than the first two years of this game.

I blame this solely at the feet of those who have abused this game,  found exploits. and rack up ten, fifteen, twenty national championships.

I'm holding off. I'm buying college football 27.

    xMase412x Hey, there

I appreciate you taking the time to explain what you're seeing out on the field. Running into the same Tier 1 teams and even the same opponents across multiple Road to the College Football Playoff runs can definitely make the mode feel less varied over time, especially if you're hoping each season feels a little different.

At the moment, there isn't any official information explaining exactly how Road to the College Football Playoff matchmaking works, so I don't want to speculate on why those matchups are happening. That said, the feedback about seeing more opponent variety and a wider mix of teams throughout the season is helpful, and I'll make sure it gets passed along.

Out of curiosity, are you seeing this mostly during the CFP portion of a season, or are the repeated opponents showing up consistently throughout the regular season as well?

    Thanks

Primarily during the Playoffs is when I am seeing this. I notice the same teams(such a bama, LSU, Texas or Ohio State) and players I have played previously.

I understand that there will be some familiar name and teams but this feels like skill based matchmaking to me.

Happy to share more if needed.

Thanks for clarifying. The Playoff-specific pattern is really helpful, especially since you're seeing the same teams and players coming back. While I can't speak to how matchmaking works behind the scenes, that extra context gives us something much more specific to look at than just "repeated matchups."

If you happen to notice it again, I'd be curious whether it's mostly happening in the National Championship, throughout the entire Playoff bracket, or both.

    Thanks
