Feature Request: Multiplayer Connected Road to Glory — Build Your Legacy Against Your Friends
I believe one of the biggest additions EA Sports could make to College Football would be an Online Connected Road to Glory mode, similar to Online Dynasty, but focused entirely on individual player careers.
Imagine being able to create your own player, invite your friends into an online Road to Glory league, and have everyone choose different colleges while competing in the same college football universe.
How It Would Work
- Online Road to Glory Leagues: Allow 2–12 or more friends to join the same connected Road to Glory experience.
- Choose Different Colleges: Each player can commit to a different university, whether they’re playing for Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio State, or a smaller program.
- Player-Lock Gameplay: Every user controls ONLY their created player, not the entire football team. The CPU controls the other players.
- Head-to-Head Matchups: When two friends’ colleges face each other, both users play in the same game while controlling their individual players.
- Shared College Football World: Everyone competes within the same schedule, conference standings, rankings, and College Football Playoff system.
- Heisman Trophy Competition: Friends compete for individual awards, school records, national championships, and NFL Draft positioning.
- Transfer Portal and NIL: Players can transfer schools, compete for starting positions, earn NIL opportunities, and build their own college football legacy.
- Multiple Positions: Friends can create quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, defensive backs, linebackers, and other positions.
Why This Would Be a Game-Changer
Road to Glory is already built around creating your own college football story, but imagine how much more exciting it would be if your friends were part of that story.
Your friend could be the starting quarterback at Georgia while you’re a cornerback at Alabama. When those teams meet, you’re actually defending against your friend’s passes instead of playing against another CPU-controlled quarterback.
Or imagine two friends competing for the Heisman all season, eventually meeting in the College Football Playoff National Championship.
Every season would create real rivalries, bragging rights, and unforgettable moments.
Keep the Road to Glory Experience Authentic
The most important part of this feature is maintaining player-lock gameplay.
Nobody should be able to switch between players or control the entire team. Each user should experience the game strictly from their created player’s perspective, including earning playing time, following coaching decisions, and developing their skills.
Final Thoughts
EA Sports already has Online Dynasty and Road to Glory. Combining the connected league experience of Dynasty with the individual player experience of Road to Glory could create one of the most exciting multiplayer modes in college football gaming.
Give us the opportunity to build our own college football careers, compete against our friends, and create rivalries that last all four seasons.
I would love to see this implemented in College Football 27 or a future release.
Would anyone else play an Online Connected Road to Glory mode like this?
