Sub In/Out RTG

Anyone having an issue with Sub in/out settings at all? I’m trying to play with more realism on RTG. However, it seems my player (RB) stays in the whole game. After games, I’m having to spend all my action points on health and this is causing other agendas to just plunge. I’ve tried changing the settings in game and sub strategy, but nothing seems to be working.

It’s super frustrating. I wanted an authentic experience with the game, but it has the same issue as last year. I wanted an authentic experience with the game. EA doesn’t seem to care about this. Idk why they have substitution options/sliders if they’re not working at all. I got tired of wasting my points on healthy/fitness, so I turned wear and tear off.

Cason0309 It’s utterly ridiculous that it doesn’t work. I’ve tried both the “Keep Fresh” and “Custom” settings, and I haven’t noticed any difference whatsoever. There seems to be very little authenticity in RTG. When you’re a second-string RB, you get rotated out, but once you become the starter, you’re basically stuck on the field. The only offensive position where I’ve actually been subbed out consistently is TE. I haven’t played much at QB yet, but hearing this is already frustrating. Unfortunately, it’s probably an issue EA will overlook because streamers and a lot of other players prefer wear and tear turned off. I ultimately don’t have a choice but to leave it off so I can balance all my agendas.

I’m having a similar issue. My player is a QB, but my issue is the skill players on the team not subbing in/out, especially at RB. If my RB gets more than 15+ touches a game, halfway through the season he’s at severe injury risk and his attributes are tanked. I have also tried to adjust the auto-sub sliders, but it doesn’t seem to apply for RTG mode because I haven’t noticed any difference. Now I’m in the playoffs and my starting RB may be able to handle 5 touches before he’s pulled for the game. I wish there was a way to rotate them like using the “Keep Fresh” in other modes, so my starting skill players aren’t absolute dust in the biggest games of the season. Anybody else experience this and have a solution?

  • I have the same issue. They won’t sub me out even though I have zero energy. I end up every week with severe wear and tear rating and my fitness level has me out of shape because I can’t balance reducing wear and tear and increasing my fitness.
