Game won't boot on Steam since last update

Hi, I've been troubleshooting a launch crash with EA SPORTS College Football 27 on PC (Steam, also tested via EA App) and have hit a wall that seems to be on the anti-cheat registration side rather than anything local.

Symptoms:

- Game launches, gets through the EA Javelin anticheat load, then closes/crashes right after.

- Windows Event Viewer shows: "collegefb27.exe exited unexpectedly, exit code: 0xC0000409" every time, right around the anticheat load stage.

- When signing in, I've also gotten a "computer is offline" message despite having a stable internet connection.

- Running EAAntiCheat.Installer.exe manually shows Madden, FC, Battlefield, and other EA titles in the game dropdown, but College Football 27 does not appear as an option at all, even though the game is fully installed through the EA App.

What I've already tried:

- Full uninstall and reinstall of the game

- Confirmed Secure Boot is enabled and TPM 2.0 is active

- Confirmed Windows is not in Test Mode (checked via bcdedit)

- Installed/confirmed Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributables (x64 and x86) are present and up to date

- Closed background overlay/RGB/OC software

- Manually deleted a leftover datapath file from previous modding, and fully unpatched/removed all mods before any of the above

- Tried launching via both Steam and the EA App directly, same result both ways

I havent found anything that has been able to work currently. Any help would be appreciated

You appear to be using an unsupported Insider or Preview build of Windows. Those Windows builds can interfere with Kernel-Mode drivers required for anti-cheat and other purposes. Please switch to a regular Retail build of Windows. Thank you. EA_Barry.

Thanks for looking into this. Additional details:

    - I installed the latest available Windows update (2026-07 Update, KB5121767, build 26200.8894) and confirmed via Settings that I'm not currently enrolled in the Windows Insider Program. The update didn't change anything, the issue is still happening.

    - A pattern I noticed is that sometimes (maybe like once every ten times or so?) it prompts me to login to Origin. When I login, it launches. But if I close it and reopen, the same problem happens.

Thanks for including good info in your post. Please try verifying your game files in Steam as follows:

    Verify Integrity of Game Files

If your issue continues after that, please generate a Dxdiag report and post that here. We may be able to help you with further troubleshooting using the info in that file. Thank you. EA_Barry.
