Addressing Epic Unit Leveling

At Redwood Studios, we don’t just design Command & Conquer: Rivals, we’re players too. We have goals for how each feature and mechanic are intended to work. Sometimes though, the actual implementation doesn’t match the goals that we've set. In those cases, we evaluate where we’re at and how we can improve the game.

One such instance happened with the rate at which different rarity units level up. Specifically, Epic units and, to a lesser extent, Rare units are not currently leveling up at the rate that they should. Players are not able to collect enough Epic cards - and so Epic unit levels are falling behind Commons and Rares. This limits what units can be used in battle, especially in the Tech Lab and Temple of Nod. We want all players to be able to keep a few Epic units at the same level as their Rare and Common units, regardless of whether they spend on in-app purchases or not.

We’re working hard to make sure Epic, Rare and Common units have a place in your army, and that our players have a great experience with C&C: Rivals. We will have more specifics to share with you in the future.

We also wanted to say thank you for playing the game and providing us with feedback. We're continuing to improve the game for Worldwide Launch - together with you, our early players. So, please continue to provide feedback, and thank you for helping us improve C&C Rivals. We'll keep you up-to-date on what we're working on, so stay tuned!

Fair play sounds very good. Are you guys considering tournament mode as well where the card levels are capped at a certain type to make competitive game play a thing?

    Hi @hiklnoppqq,

I'm not quite sure what you mean. Do you mean a specific mode that is limited by unit level, similar to how all units are the same level in Friendly Battles? Or are you thinking of something different?

This resent update has a unit lvl cap which is good, but I still think maps need to be little bigger....I on average win a match in less then a min

I honestly think that's the goal here especially for a mobile game. You don't want to be stuck on a single match for 10 minutes. On the go.... That's a really long time to stare down at your phone in intense concentration. It will hurt ur eyes for sure
