Can't join or see my friend game on The Command and Conquer Ultimate Collection zero hour but I can see him on the friend list

I just bought the collection and am trying to play zero hour with my friend we can see each other on the friend list but no one is able to see the other person game to join it is there any issues that am not aware of with the online server or is there something I have to do to fix this issue.
