c&c ultimate collection red alert 2 no mouse

When i run the c&c ultimate collection red alert 2 (it is from Origin). the main menu appears  and all of the graphics are fine but, i cant see the mouse if i randomly click around the screen i can click on the menu buttons and what ever but i still cant see my mouse i have uninstalled, re installed, updated and all of that  but i still cant see my mouse. does any one else have this problem or know how to fix it? i am running windows 8.1 64 bit on an hp envy m6 1225dx

i have searched around and i cant find anyone else who has this problem

    Odd issue.

    Have you tried changing the compatibility mode as described here?

    Have you found a solution? I have yet to find one. I have tried many options. ☹️

    @hatsjer96 I had the same issue... it may be a long shot, but it was suggested that I disable mouse trails in Windows... Apparently it was easy to miss...

    Do you mean this? It has always been disabled. Never had it enabled.
