Hmm. That's an issue with the copy protection. It's normally fixed by running the game in administrator mode I think.

From what I remember, the copy protection works by taking a hardware snapshot on install, and comparing that to the current system on startup to ensure the game isn't copied to another PC after install. However, the lack of administrator mode means the game isn't given access to those system details it's trying to check; the game predates modern user account control.
