Command and Conquer GENERALS AND ZERO HOUR WINDOWS8

I just bought a brand new computer and it can run games like diablo and WOW but yet i cant run the generals game my brother just bought me , it installs and after it is done i click the icon it comes...

hi, know this is a bit old but, but i had same porblem as you.

i got it working by right clicking on the game in origin libary on hitting: 'Game properties' and then mark:' Disable origin in game for this game'

On windows 8.1    i have only tried Red Alert 2 so far <3
