Command and Conquer GENERALS AND ZERO HOUR WINDOWS8

I just bought a brand new computer and it can run games like diablo and WOW but yet i cant run the generals game my brother just bought me , it installs and after it is done i click the icon it comes...

Mine wont work either except when I click run it says log in as administrator so I do, then it doesn't even start up. None of the patches work, any help?
