I second this. I tried everything i could find for windows 8.1, no luck.
- Added / edited the options.ini
- Tried all options under compatibility mode, and some different combinations
- Running as administrator
- Enabled built in admin account, tried it from there
The initial error i saw was: Access denied: Please login with administrator privileges and try again.
Now it just doesn't do anything, then the compatibility troubleshooter pops up and asks if it worked.

Some interesting things that i noticed;
There is an event log entry blocking a driver that coincides with starting the game (can't figure out how to post images)
It is blocking SecDrv from being loaded.
SecDrv.sys is a driver file located in the CC generals folder. That's where i made the connection.
EDIT:
Details on the error:
Entry 1:
Event 7000, Service Control Manager
The SecDrv service failed to start due to the following error:
This driver has been blocked from loadingEntry 2:
Event 1060, Application popup
The description for Event ID 1060 from source Application Popup cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
\??\C:\WINDOWS\SysWow64\drivers\SECDRV.SYS
the message resource is present but the message is not found in the string/message table

Did you install the game on windows 10 or is it a leftover from your old windows version? It seems like there are a lot of problems with the stuff that was kept from your hdd before the update, it might be the best to try re-installing everything that causes problems

I have the game and it's expansion. I thought it was my disks because of the problem i'm having so i downloaded it off the net. used my own cd keys and even tried the crack. i tried to keep my image mounted and not use the crack but the same problem arose. so i use the run admin and a different error comes up. i've checked for malware nd viruses and there are none. "you have encountered a serious error. serious errors can be caused by many things including viruses, overheated hardware and hardware that does not meet the minimum spesification for the game. please visit the forums at www.generals.ea.com for suggested courses of action or consult your manual for technical support contact information." I resently upgraded my windows from 7 to 10.
