Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun

I have a Windows 8 machine.  Tiberian Sun will load to the main menu just fine, but when I select "New Campaign," the game freezes and the menu disappears.  I have been unable to load the game beyond...

i have tried every "FIX" that has been said or shown, ive followed all the instructions to the "T" and the options still wont open, have to press enter after clicking on the new campain and skirmish, and in game options freezes the game and crashes, alsocrashes randomly in game, and i have to shut off my computer to get it to close....

i bought The Ultimate Collection only for this game... and its the only one that doesnt work and i have tried everything.......
