So I have installed Command and Comquer Generals Zero Hour through Origin and whenever I launch the game it will not work. What occurs is that after I click play a screen pops up to let me select between the generals game or the zero hour version of it. I can click on either but noting will occur any further. I just get stuck at that screen. Please help.

For me I was able to get it to work by clicking on the Origin Client program and on the top left of the screen there is a subtitle that says "Origin" . Left click on that, and then a menu drops down where you will need to left click on the tab which says "Application Settings" then left click on tab that says "Origin in Game". Make sure that the box is "Unchecked" where it says "Enable Origin in Game". then try and restart your game. It might work for you as it did for me. Hopefully this works for you.

For me I was able to get it to work by clicking on the Origin Client program and on the top left of the screen there is a subtitle that says "Origin" . Left click on that, and then a menu drops down where you will need to left click on the tab which says "Application Settings" then left click on tab that says "Origin in Game". Make sure that the box is "Unchecked" where it says "Enable Origin in Game". then try and restart your game. It might work for you as it did for me. Hopefully this works for you.

found the check box that you directed me to find. However it will not let me uncheck the box. Any suggestions?????

This is a cut and paste from another thread that I responded to.
I had the same problem as you. It all started a few days ago (around November 6th) immediately after the latest Origin update. At first I couldn't change the settings. I tried rebooting the computer a half dozen times but still I was unable to "Uncheck " that stupid box. Finally I gave up and the next day when I turned on my computer I thought I would give it another try, and for whatever reason, I was "magically" able to uncheck it. After I unchecked it, I was able to play the game and have been able to ever since. Don't have a clue as to why I couldn't uncheck it at first, then all of sudden I could uncheck it the next day????? But I am not complaining. All I can suggest is try rebooting your computer a few times and see if you are then able to uncheck it. If that doesn't work then turn the power completely off and let it sit for a few minutes, maybe that will help.

I did the uncheck origin in game thingy and it still doesn't load.

zero hour works for me but other cnc games wont work

In order to uncheck the box, you cant be in-game. I figured this out when i closed cac on my task manager and then it allowed me to uncheck the box.

This worked! I had to restart my comp to make sure no c and c programs were running. Unchecked the box and ran both generals and red alert 2. Thanks!

LoL.... I had this box unchecked already since a long time ago, and I'm still experiencing the issue!!!!! None of the Generals is working.
I'm on Windows 8.1 64 bit. C&C the Ultimate Collection (FYI C&C Tiberium Wars is working, both vanilla and expansion).
My Generals used to work before, but somehow now I can't play it
