Game Browser - Mods

I've been trying to get mods to work with Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars and Kane's Wrath. I was able to use the EA Game Browser to do so years ago. I'd prefer to launch either game this way so I can choose a mod, and not have to modify files to play the various versions of the game.

I've followed all of the instructions on the EA site to install the mods. But, any time I try launch either game with a mod, regardless of whether the target has been modified for the shortcut, the EA app displays a slashscreen where you can choose one of the original versions of either game. As a result, it only allows me to play the originals.

For example, the target is:

"D:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Command and Conquer 3 TW and KW\Command Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars\CNC3.exe" -modconfig "C:\Users\jimbob\Documents\Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars\Mods\The Forgotten\config.txt"

Is there a work around?
