So I tried the suggested options.ini change and it does exactly nothing - still those annoying black bars on either side.
It's really annoying and disappointing that it won't change no matter what resolution I try to change it to.
Sadly, I play through the app, as I lost my original discs ☹️
Anyone have a solution, that does work?

@DutchyBudgiePlease install GenTool (https://www.gentool.net/). This allows you to choose the native resolution of your screen in the game's in-game graphics/video menu itself, which should remove any silly black bars you've encountered. Did this help for you? Btw, no worries, it doesn't affect gameplay at all 🙂 So, it is not really a modification of the game, but more some extras, tweaks and fixes that improve the game on modern systems instead of modifying gameplay.
And it works, with the app-installed versions, too?
