Just purchased command and conquer ultimate collection. does not launch.

Very disappointed in EA. for taking money for faulty products. then offering fixes that do not work. have tried them all. the problem according to windows is a missing file "ssleay32.dll". How hard ...

I was successfully playing C&C and The Covert Operations until yesterday on a W11 Home laptop.

Opened the EA App today and it wouldn't let me play without applying an update. Now I get an error on game launch as follows:

Error:

The instruction at 66df70c4 referenced memory at 00000008

The memory could not be written.

Click on OK to terminate the application.

The EA App then tries to repair the game, then it tries to launch again and then fails with the same error just a different code.

Any help appreciated.
