As the title says, losing points needs to go. At the very least, losing a battle shouldn't take points away from your current level. I can understand going down zones in each faction, but it's killing the game for me to lose points on my level. Losing 25 points for every single loss and only gaining 15 for a win makes this a lot worse.
Honestly, if this isn't taken out before launch I'm not going to be sticking around to spend any time or money on this game.
Your rank value is part of a larger economy. If they removed the penalty or reduced it too much, the economy would be awfully inflated and the game would soon just reward those who can play the game 16 hours a day. I would prefer this system where your rank is more a measure of your ability to win. If you drop in rank, then maybe you deserve it and your rank was inflated from a lucky win streak.
I see the simple solution as only having your zone/faction rank go down when you lose. Your total level progression should be completely unaffected. Any solution that does not implement this is doomed to fail since unit unlocks are tied to your level.
