Need a Resign Button

Why is there not a resign button?

If you are going up against a player that you don't want to play, right now you have to shutdown your whole game.

Suggested Solution: A resign button. The player resigning can loss half of the intended medals, while the other player still gets the full. if up against a challenge battle, you still lose no medals.

This helps speed up games. People on both sides don't have to wait. People don't have to shut down the game. and code-wise it is hella simple to write.

So again why is there not a resign button?

You are aware that this is complete nonsense, right?

Chess has the option to give up.

Go has the option to give up.

Starcraft has the option to give up.

The old C&C games have the option to give up.

Were any of these games ruined by having this option? No, obviously not.

The possibility to surrender has always been a part of any strategy game ever. It's just that Redwood, for whatever strange reason, cannot find a decent developer who is able to do this. Or they have some idiot manager who decided that this should not be in the game, because he is an idiot who has zero understanding of strategy games.

They would surrender just the same if the button did not exist. You cannot stop them from doing so. People can always close their app, or shut down their WiFi connection.

People are stupid effers. If you give them an incentive to lose intentionally, they will (at least some of them). The Rivals Race was designed in a very stupid way, and then EA decided to stop any further development of new content and bugfixes in the summer of 2019.

By the way, I encounter players who give up intentionally and prematurely maybe in 1 games out of 50. So it's not like that happens constantly every single day. It's not cool, but neither is it a very huge problem.

Nope. There is way more losing on purpose than before. Way more. I came back to this zombie thread because I had so many surrenders before the race. And afterwards on masters 1, I ran into many that win but surrender at the last second to stay there. Guys that are normal tiberium players with level 14 and 15 units.
