RA 2 will minimize with Alt-Tab, but when I click on RA2 in the Taskbar to go back to it the computer freezes. The only fix is to do a hard reboot. Even Task Manager will not come up. I am trying to set up C&C First Decade to play on a PC just upgraded to Windows 10.
If you play when you can, like between phone calls, you may need the ability to pop out to another program and then return. If anyone has a fix would love to hear it. Thanks.
@Thanks4help The game freezing on alt-tab is a known issue. Never heard of it locking up the whole PC, though...
There is currently no fix for this, but people have managed o run the game in windowed mode to get around this, by launching the game with command line parameter "-win"
Note that Windowed mode only works if you set the game to run in 16 bit colour mode. Luckily, in Windows 10, this is simply among the exe file's compatibility options (whereas in older windows versions the only way to accomplish this was to actually reduce the colour mode of your desktop)
