Yup. That'd be my patch. Resolutions that high really aren't advised on it though, since all actual game maps in C&C1 are much smaller. You'd just end up with an ugly black area full of refresh errors around your playing field.
Here's the whole lot of them:
Command & Conquer 1:
- Nyerguds' C&C95 v1.06c revision 3 patch (which also adds bonus missions originally exclusive to the Playstation and Nintendo 64 versions of the game)
Red Alert 1:
- Funkyfr3sh's automatic Red Alert 1 patcher/installer
- Nyerguds' main.mix cleanup for TFD/TUC (Not really needed, but cleans up about a gigabyte of unnecessary files in the RA1 folder. Unpack in the game folder, run "patch_main.bat", let it finish, and then delete the files you extracted.)
Tiberian Sun:
Red Alert 2:
- The graphics system patch DDWrapper is known to solve the "black screen" issue.
Download the zip file and extract "ddraw.dll" and "aqrit.cfg" into your game folder. Then, open the configuration file "aqrit.cfg" in Notepad, change the "ForceDirectDrawEmulation" option to 1, save the file, and the game should work.
It is strongly advised to install all of these.
- Anonymous10 years agoRecently I got origins ultimate collection. I have successfully gotten all command and conquer games to work except for red alert 2. That is the only one giving me issues. I've been working on it for a week now with zero results. I've done everything I have read about and still get the black screen, no menus. I have windows 7 64 bit. Anyone that can help, I would appreciate it. That's my favorite game in the series and am becoming very discouraged. It's not an origin problem because I get the same thing when I install my cd version. Either I'm not getting a step right or my computer hates me. I had the same issue with C&C tiberian sun but was able to fix that by changing settings in the arqrit file. That worked, but has not had the same results for red alert 2.
Update, got it working. Deleted the game, reinstalled it, added the ddwrapper file, changed arqrit file pera meters and it works. Thanks! Don't give up. It can be done. If need be, I can post screen shots. Best thing to do is reinstall it and download the ddwrapper. Copy and place in the red alert folder. Open arqit with note pad, change everything to 1 instead of 0 except for FakeVsyncinterval. Leave that at 0. Save and launch game. Hope this helps.
I have gotten all the C&C games to work on origin, windows 7 so let me know if you have a question about the other ones as well.
