it should be easy to fix for an ancient game like Red Alert 2 right?
Really? Why do you think bugs in older games are easier to solve than those in more recent games? EA might not even have the source code of these older games anymore. Not to mention, not a single one of the original Westwood developers still works for EA, so even if they still have that source code, a developer would be looking at a completely unfamiliar project with no idea of where to start.
And then we're not even going into the fact there are no developers employed at EA for C&C anymore. Not since Generals 2 got canned, in 2013.
Anyway, as for your problem... errors happen, yea. The best thing you can do is fiddle around with the compatibility mode on the game's exe file and see what makes it run with the most stability.
The graphics system patch DDWrapper might work too; it is known to solve issues with the game. Not sure if that went beyond graphical issues, though. To install, download the zip file and extract "ddraw.dll" and "aqrit.cfg" into your game folder. Then, open the configuration file "aqrit.cfg" in Notepad, change the "ForceDirectDrawEmulation" option to 1, save the file, and the game should work.
