Re: Rifleman vs Dogs

Dogs don‘t have that much dps, but what they do have is tons of HP. Blocking with them is very effective.

If only war dogs were a lot more beefier... to the point that it would be a very effective counter to a scarab, if the scarab explodes on a war dog, its should be left with 1/6th or less HP and the war dog has finished the other scarab and moves on to another tile to avoid prolonged fire damage. I usually use war dogs and wheels ever since I got them, militants and riflemen are molten flesh to chem buggies, which is quite common as an opening unit.

That’s why I like rifleman/ militants. Dogs aren’t 100 percent against scarabs and dogs cannot be used against grenadiers or zones or cyborgs or machine gunners.

Dogs also have a harder time against mutants, scavengers, and missiles and lasers.

You get more bang for your buck with rifleman/ militants and a war or air factory can handle the chembuggy.

I found out that these 2 together easily chew their way through all infantry. The war dog is beefy to the point that a riflemen squad can sneak up to a MG nest. Remember the no-harvester deck I talked about, these units are paired with pit-bull and missile squad. Sometimes I order a harvester by accident or that I plan to throw out the tech unit.

@EinarThePillager Yeah. I guess it depends on your style of play and what you are willing to sacrifice to have both. I’ve never been much of a blocker. I’m more of a reactionary type player.

I start out with militants, you counter with a chem or venom, and I counter with bikes. You counter with more bikes and I counter with a tank. I find afterwards that my opponent usually runs out of counters because they have too much tech or one too many cool units that do the same thing.

    Absolutely, undoubtedly, 100% true :D
