C&C1, RA1 and TS are all freeware. It's not even illegal 🥳

Anyway... Command & Conquer 1, Red Alert 1 and Tiberian Sun have all been upgraded with community-created unofficial patches that fix a lot of their bugs and compatibility problems. For Red Alert 2 there's a more general patch that solves a lot of its graphics problems. You can find them here:

    Command & Conquer 1:

    Red Alert 1:

    Tiberian Sun:

    Red Alert 2:

    • The graphics system patch DDWrapper is known to solve the "black screen" issue.
Download the zip file and extract "ddraw.dll" and "aqrit.cfg" into your game folder. Then, open the configuration file "aqrit.cfg" in Notepad, change the "ForceDirectDrawEmulation" option to 1, save the file, and the game should work.

So, yeah, if you're still getting too many problems with the Origin versions, then, for the first three games, just don't use them, and download the full versions instead.

RA.exe should be the right one. Make sure that you use a compatibility setting from before the Vista (Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows XP with SP3)

You might need to check the Disable display scaling on high DPI settings, too. But try  with only OS check first.

btw i can run the game using origin but when it starts the cutscenes dont work when

i pressed esc to get to the main menu

at the main menu i can move around with the arrow keys and enter but i cant starts a match without choosing the difficulty using the mouse
the cursor is laggy soo laggy that its take 5 seconds for the cursor to move (teleport) from a place to another

when i tried pressing esc key multiple times i glitched in a match somehow the match looked like a test map or something cuz i was stuck on an island with a broken bridge and just one soldier anyway on that map the cursor was moving normally and i was able to move the soldier around   however as soon as i press the esc key to get the menu to abort the mission the cursor lag returns .

Ah, frag it. Still has the old DOS files included. 🤨

RA95.exe should be the correct one. Use the Win95 or Win 98 compatibility

hmm i thought it might be a DOS game though im only 17 and never used DOS

but no it looks like EA have modified the game to stop pirates by disabling the ra95 file

and instead using RA95Launcher.exe  which only runs the game if origin is on

and using any compatibility settings on that file would be applyed on origin it self (if it was off) instead of  the game

did i also mention that sometimes when i minimize the game the colors of the menu get inverted ?

come on EA i bought a legal version to

    avoid  technical problems

    and

get a version with full cutscenes

cutscenes aint working (just can hear them)

    and the game is unplayable

now they are modifying the game to make sure they get their 1usd  from a 1995 game ☹️

God...So glad that i have my old retail discs...For the colors, check in compatibility mode reduced color mode and select 16 bits. Should solve the color problems...Still scratching my head of the why EA won't let GOG do their magic on C&C, just like they did on a number of the old EA games (Ultima, Kyrandia, Lands of Lore, Theme Park and so on). It would be a win-win. EA won't have to deal with us and we won't have to jump through hoops to make the games work.

    yeah you are right

anyway since none of EA's staff replied here i will try to chat with wtih them for the last time

if they didnt answer i guess i will have to "DOWNLOAD" the game

its not stealing because i have already bought the games right ?

Depends from country to country. So, you need to consult a local lawyer about that🙂
